Every series needs a first chapter. And when we sat down to think about who would open Brides of the Brand — Glitz Allure's celebration of the women who trusted us with their most sacred moments — there was only one answer. Wendy.

Wendy didn't come to us with a mood board. She came with a vision so specific, so crystalline, that the moment she described it, we knew exactly what we were building. She wanted blue. The Making

It Began With Four Stones in a Palm

Before Wendy's gown could exist, it had to be imagined into being — stone by stone, hand by hand. The sourcing began with the search for the right Swarovski crystal: a princess-cut sapphire blue stone with a depth of colour that would hold its intensity under flash, under chandeliers, and in the darkness of a reception hall.

What you see in our behind-the-scenes images is not a production line. It is a studio of artisans — skilled hands working across a vast expanse of sheer cobalt tulle, placing each crystal individually, row by row, with a precision that only patience and mastery can produce.

The base fabric — a deep cobalt blue tulle — was stretched and pinned across a full workstation. Thousands of hand-set Swarovski stones in two sizes were applied across the skirt panel alone, creating that galaxy-like density of sparkle that photographs like a second sky. Interspersed throughout were larger square-cut stones, catching light at different angles to create movement even in stillness.

The bodice tells its own separate story. The iconic 3D rope scroll appliqué — those sweeping, baroque curves that cascade from the neckline down through the torso — were hand-formed and hand-stitched, each scroll built from tightly wound cord and then set with micro-crystals to ensure they caught light from every angle. The sleeves — sheer cobalt lace with additional scroll details — completed the architectural vision.

The total construction time was not hours. It was days of focused, meticulous handwork.
