Respect the Pile Direction
Velvet has a nap — a direction the pile lies in. Cut and sewn with the nap running downward, the colour reads deeper and richer; against it, lighter and more reflective. Tell your tailor which effect you want before scissors touch fabric. This single detail separates luxury velvet looks from average ones.

Let Velvet Be the Statement
Velvet does not share attention well. Pair it with clean, minimal accessories — metallic accents, simple jewellery, one strong gele. When velvet is in the room, everything else should lower its voice.
